(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On August 22, 2014 at approximately 8:56 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Wellington Road 124 at the Sixth Line, Town of Erin.
At that time and location police investigated the male driver of a 2007 Dodge that entered into the check point. Upon speaking with the driver police immediately detected the odour of marihuana. Police subsequently seized a small quantity of marihuana and the driver was placed under arrest.
Lawrence HEWITT age 33 of Elora has been charged with Possession of Marihuana Under 30 Grams contrary to the Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 30, 2014 to answer to the charge.
