Man Tasered After For Pointing Firearm At Police

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On September 16, 2013 members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a 9-1-1 call for help to an apartment building on Railway Avenue in Parry Sound. Police knocked on the door and checked the windows. Furniture was knocked over and garbage was all over the floor. Police kicked in the door and were confronted with a man holding a hand gun. Police deployed a Conductive Energy Weapon (Taser) and disarmed the man. The handgun appeared to be a Glock was in fact a gas powered pellet gun.

David O’HAGAN, 45 years of age from Parry Sound was arrested and charged with:

· Pointing a Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).

· Careless use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition contrary to the CC.

The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on October 20, 2016 to answer to his charges.
