(Selwyn Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called after a firearm was removed from a pickup truck on Deerfield Crescent Saturday evening shortly before 7:30pm.
The owner of the shotgun had locked it in the bed of a pickup truck and attended a family function. Within an hour the owner discovered the tonneau cover tampered with, the tailgate open and the gun missing. The firearm is described as a Browning semi-automatic 12GA shotgun black with a wood stock.
Investigators are actively looking for information that may assist in identifying a suspect or suspect(s) in this case. Police urge the public to call in tips on this case, or others, to the Peterborough OPP at 705-742-0401, the non-emergency line (888) 310-1122 or to Crime Stoppers.
