Man Charged with Theft

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a theft investigation.

On January 12, 2014 the man approached a Dover Township resident and asked if they wanted to buy an enclosed trailer and two snowmobiles for $3500.

Through investigation, police determined that the items were stolen from Lakeshore. Officers recovered the property and the registered owner was notified. The trailer and snowmobiles were valued at over $30,000.

Around 3:30 a.m. this morning, officers identified the man responsible for the theft and he was arrested. Jason Souligny, 41 years, of Semenyn Avenue in Chatham has been charged with theft over $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime over $5000. He has been released with conditions pending a future court date.
