Man Charged with Driving While Under Suspension

Just before 11:00 a.m. yesterday morning, an officer on general patrol observed a man driving a motor vehicle northbound on Prince Street in Chatham. The officer noticed that the vehicle’s validation sticker was expired. A query of the licence plates confirmed that the validation expired in December 2012. The officer initiated a traffic stop and further learned that the man was suspended from driving due to unpaid fines. The 48-year-old Chatham man was charged with driving while under suspension, driving a motor vehicle with no validation and failing to surrender his insurance card. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
