(Peterborough, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Drug Enforcement Section arrested a male in the City of Peterborough yesterday just before 5:30pm.
OPP Drug Enforcement Section members blocked in the suspect’s vehicle on King George Street near Monaghan Road. The male had a minor collision with the unmarked police vehicle before fleeing on foot. The suspect was observed by officers just before he ran into a private residence on Monaghan Road. The male was taken into custody in front of the unsuspecting homeowners. Kester ELLIS (age 31) of Milton, ON was arrested and charged with:
Possession for the purposes of trafficking a schedule 1 controlled substance (cocaine)
Dangerous operation of a vehicle
Possession of proceeds of crime
Obstruct a police officer
Unlawfully in a dwelling house
The accused had a brief court appearance today and is scheduled for a show cause hearing on Tuesday May 17, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
