(Tweed, ON) – On September 12, 2014 at 11:50 p.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P were dispatched to an assault call on James Street in the Municipality of Tweed. Information was provided that an intoxicated male was out of control, yelling death threats and assaulting another male.
When officers arrived on scene they took control of the suspect and initiated an investigation. It was determined the suspect had assaulted his neighbour and uttered a threat to kill him. In addition, the suspect assaulted his neighbour’s son who attempted to intervene to aid his father.
As a result, 19 year old Craig MCCONACHIE of Tweed, ON was arrested and charged with two Counts of Assault and one count of Uttering Threats – Cause Death. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
