(TILLSONBURG, ON.) – On June 20, 2015 at approximately 3:00 a.m. members of Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance on Frances Street in Tillsonburg.
Oxford OPP along with Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactical Response Unit (TRU), OPP Crisis Negotiators, Western Region Criminal Investigation Branch, and Oxford County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) all attended to assist with this incident that involved a male armed with rifles barricaded in his vehicle.
After an approximate six (6) hour standoff with police, the male was arrested without incident and two(2) long guns were seized.
As a result of investigation 54 year old Donald MORRIS of Tillsonburg was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following:
Point Firearm
Weapons Dangerous
Flight from Police ~ Fail to Stop
Utter threats
Unsafe Storage
Trespass by Night
The male is being held in custody.
