(Blind River, ON.) – On September 1, 2013 at 2:45 a.m. officers from the East Algoma OPP in Blind River approached a male and female walking on Woodward Avenue in Blind River who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. While the male was being arrested for intoxicated in a public place an altercation took place between the officers, the male and female. Officers were able to take control the two individuals who now face criminal charges. James Colin HOEBURG, 27 years of age from Mississauga First Nation is charged was charged with resisting arrest under the Criminal Code and being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor Licence Act.
Ashley Grossman, 20 years of age from Blind River has been charged with the following offences: 1) Intoxicated in a public place
2) Resist Arrest
3) Assault with the intent to resist arrest
4) Mischief under $5000
Both HOEBURG and GROSSMAN were released and are scheduled to appear in Blind River Provincial Court on December 5 2013 for answer to the charges.
