(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – – On April 6, 2015 members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E (Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere) checks on the 400 northbound ramp from McDougall Road in McDougall Township. Police approached a red SUV and determined that the driver had consumed alcohol.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, Layton LYNCH, 62 years of age from Harris Lake, was arrested and charged with the following:
1. Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol, contrary to the Criminal Code (CC)
2. Have care and control of a motor vehicle with open liquor, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act (LLA)
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on April 30, 2015 to answer to his charges.
The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
