(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Thursday, August 7, 2013 at approximately 8:26 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for speeding on Hwy. 10 south of Markdale in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.
The driver of the 2001 PT Cruiser was found to have been drinking alcohol. An open container of liquor was observed inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Markdale OPP Detachment for breath tests. The test results indicated she had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.
Laura TOWN, age 25, of Owen Sound, Ontario is charged with impaired driving and over 80 mg; as well as driving with an open container of liquor under the Liquor Licence Act and speeding 121 km/h in a 80 km/h zone under the Highway Traffic Act.
She is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, August 22, 2013.
