(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – ON December 7, 2012 County of Wellington OPP were conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check on Wellington Road 39, south of Wellington Road 30. A 2011 Silverado pickup truck entered the spot check, and police determined the male driver to be impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Centre Wellington Detachment for breath tests. Several attempts were made by the driver to provide a suitable breath sample without success.
Larry Heaney, age 57 of Guelph faces charges of Fail to Provide Breath Sample and Impaired Driving, both contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on January 8, 2013 to answer to the charges.
