Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of 29 December 2015 to the 03 January 2016, there were 94 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were fourteen motor vehicle collisions, four were animal related. Police remind motorists to drive with caution, be aware of your surroundings, and watch for deer and wild animals.

There were six domestic dispute calls for service during the week of 29 December 2015, 03 January 2016. There was one domestic related incident involving criminal code charges.

Break and Enter, Eganville Electrical Generating Plant

Killaloe OPP Constable Jeff MacLeod is investigating a Break and Enter into the Eganville Electrical Plant, in Bonnechere Valley Twp. The entry occurred between the 21 December 2015 and the 01 January 2016. Two fire extinguishers were removed from the building and thrown into the water dam. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Killaloe OPP or Crimestoppers.

Killaloe OPP Festive RIDE Concluded

The Killaloe OPP Detachment reports indicate a total of 123 Festive RIDE spot checks were conducted throughout the detachment area over the holiday season, resulting in one warn range suspension issued. The Festive RIDE program commenced on the 23 November 2015 and concluded on the 02 January 2016. The Killaloe OPP are pleased with the results and credit a shared responsibility of police in targeting impaired drivers and with the community in making the right choices.

OPP Reminders, Safe Winter Driving

The Killaloe OPP is reminding motorists to be prepared for winter driving conditions. Clear all snow from your vehicle, ensuring maximum visibility. Leave early, giving yourself extra time to arrive safely at your destination. Keep a safe distance between yourself and others motor vehicles, and decrease speeds on snow covered roadways.
