Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of the 6 June 2016, to the 12 June 2016, there were 78 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were nine motor vehicle collisions, four were animal related.

There was one domestic dispute call for service during the week of the 6 June 2016, to the 12 June 2016. There were no domestic related incidents involving criminal code charges.

Collisions

On the 10 June 2016 at approximately 7:24 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Lapierre attended the Eganville Country Store, on Bonnechere St W, Bonnechere Valley Twp. to investigate a single vehicle hit and run collision. The suspect vehicle struck the front of the building causing damages. The suspect vehicle is believed to be silver SUV. This incident remains under investigation.

On the 12 June 2016 at approximately 10:51 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Teasdale received a call of a two vehicle motor vehicle collision involving personal injury on Dunn Street, in Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 83 yr. old Cecil CLARK of Madawaska Valley Twp. was charged with Fail to Yield section 136 (1)(b) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. One person was taken to the hospital by Ambulance with non-life threating injuries. Both vehicles sustained major damages and were towed.

Break and Enter

On the 8 June 2016 at approximately 5: 07 p.m., Killaloe OPP received a call of a break and enter into a shed on Albert Street, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. Stolen were two electric drills, manual ice auger, a metal box, and a pellet gun. This incident remains under investigation.

On the 11 June 2016 at approximately 8:56 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jeff Turnbull received a call of theft on Hopefield Road in Madawaska Valley Twp. A grey SUV with several males were seen loading firewood onto a trailer. This incident remains under investigation.

Breach of Undertaking Charge

On the 8 June 2016 at approximately 3:51 p.m., Killaloe OPP received information regarding a Breach of Undertaking conditions call for service on Lake Dore Road, in North Algona Wilberforce Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 26 yr. old female, and a 34 yr. old male from North Algona Wilberforce Twp. were charged with Breach of Undertaking, section 145(5) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The names of the accused have not been released to protect the identity of the victim as this incident is domestic related.

On the 10 June 2016 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jason Golds investigated a breach of probation call for service, on Highway # 60, in, Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 65 yr. old Larry STAMPLECOSKI of Madawaska Valley Twp. has been charged with Fail to Comply with Probation Order, section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada, and Driving While Under Suspension x 2 section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was held for a video bail hearing, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe.

On the 11 June 2016 at approximately 1: 50 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jason Golds and Constable Chris Teasdale were conducting a RIDE program on Lake Dore Road, in North Algona Wilberforce Twp. Police stopped a motorist, and subsequent to investigation, it was determined that the driver was on probation conditions not to possess or consume alcohol. As a result police investigation, 27 yr. old Christopher DONNELLY of Laurentian Hills has been charged with Breach of Probation, section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was held for a bail hearing, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.

Impaired Charges

On the 10 June 2016 at approximately 9:22 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Devin Leeworthy and Constable Jordan Bullis received a traffic complaint call of a possible impaired driver, on Highway # 60 in Algonquin Park. Police located the motor vehicle, and as a result of police investigation, 20 yr. old Michael STOPPA of Madawaska Valley Twp. has been charged with Impaired Operation, section 253(1)(a) and Over 80, section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a Court date at the Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The vehicle was towed, and impounded for seven days.
