Justin JAMES – Drunk Driving, Speeding

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On August 6, 2016, at 11:56 p.m., a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar enforcement on Highway 400 in McDougall Township. A north bound vehicle was observed to be speeding. As a result of the stop, the officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol.

As a result of the officer’s investigation, Justin JAMES, 47 years of age from Etobicoke was arrested and charged with:

· Driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in blood contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).

· Speeding 1-49 Km/h over posted limit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound, on September 1, 2016 to answer to his charges. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was driving was impounded for seven days.

The OPP are reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver that is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
