(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On December 8, 2014 at 9:32 a.m. a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was south bound behind a vehicle on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. The officer conducted a traffic stop as the licence plate was obstructed. Further investigation revealed that the driver was disqualified from driving.
The driver, Joseph CUMORIC, 65 years of age from Hamilton, was arrested and charged with the following:
1. Drive while disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
2. Obstruct plate contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
3. Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit contrary to the HTA.
4. Use validation not furnished for vehicle contrary to the HTA.
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound on February 5, 2015 to answer to his charges.
