John QUINTON – Drive While Suspended

(MATHESON) – An officer with the Matheson Ontario Provincial Police has charged a Kirkland Lake, Ontario resident with Driving While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act stemming from a routine traffic stop on Fourth Avenue in Matheson on September 14th

The OPP officer had occasion to stop a passenger vehicle for an alleged traffic violation.

Based on the routine investigative steps taken by the OPP officer, it was determined that there was a driver’s licence suspension in effect in the driver’s name.

John QUINTON, 22, of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, has been served with a Provincial Offences Act summons requiring him to attend Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against him.

The South Porcupine OPP reminds motorists that the obligations to be safe and responsible while behind the wheel rests squarely on the shoulders of the individual driver. Those motorists who insist on driving while under suspension can rightfully expect a prompt and strict response from OPP officers who diligently patrol area roadways.
