(East-Hawkesbury, ON) On February 9th, 2014, in the Municipality of East-Hawkesbury, while on traffic duty, shortly before noon on Highway #417, OPP Constable Mario Bourgeois observed a 2014 Audi S5 traveling at 151 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone.
The vehicle was intercepted. The driver, Jinghao ZHANG of Ottawa ON, was charged with section 172 (1) of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act for Race a motor vehicle.
The vehicle was seized and impounded for 7 days
The drivers’ licence was also seized and suspended for 7 days.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the L’Orignal Court on March 6th at 9am.
