(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On December 28, 2013, just after midnight, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting radar enforcement on Highway 401 eastbound near Kennesserie Road.
The officer observed an Audi vehicle that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. Radar was used to confirm a speed of 168 km/hr.
Jiada HE, age 19, from London, ON, has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
