(SOUTH-WEST OXFORD, ON.) – On September 10, 2016 at approximately 2:52 a.m. Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was travelling southbound on Highway 19 (Plank Line) near Ostrander Road, in South-West Oxford Township.
Police observed the vehicle to be travelling at approximate speeds up to 116km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone. The traffic stop was initiated and as a result of investigation, the male driver, 39-year-old Jeremy MOUNTAIN of Tillsonburg was charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle (Highway Traffic Act) as well as the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample – Roadside Screening Device
Fail to Comply with Recognizance
The male was held for a bail hearing.
