(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in a local male facing an alcohol related offence.
On February 21, 2014 an OPP officer conducted a traffic stop after observing that the driver was not wearing a seat belt. The officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol and subsequently arrested him.
Investigation resulted in the driver, James GALLIE, 49 years of age, of Fenelon Township, being charged with driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100 mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was also charged with failing to properly wear a seat belt, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on March 20, 2014.
