(COLLINGWOOD, ON.) Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit with the assistance of front line members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP have arrested and charged a male in relation to a robbery at a gas station in Collingwood.
On the 19th of June 2015 at approximately 1:50am, OPP officers were dispatched to a robbery incident at the Esso gas station in Collingwood where a male attended the location and advised he was in possession of a weapon. He then proceeded to request cash and cigarettes and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. No one was injured in this incident.
Police investigation, with the assistance of Durham Regional Police Service, led to the male being located and arrested in Oshawa. Charged is 38 year-old James GALLACHER of Collingwood. He is charged with robbery and disguise with intent to commit indictable offence; he was held for bail court, via video link, this morning.
