(KINGSVILLE, ON) –On March 21, 2015 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Kingsville received a call regarding a fail to remain crash that had occurred on Essex County Road 31 at Road 5 in Kingsville, where one vehicle had rear-ended another vehicle and left the scene at a high rate of speed.
A short time later, an OPP officer located the vehicle and driver in question a short distance from the crash. The driver exhibited obvious signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.
No one was injured in the crash.
Jacob DYCK, age 61 of Kingsville was charged with the following offences:
Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident
Driving While Disqualified
Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Exceed 80 Milligrams of Blood Alcohol Content
He will appear in a Windsor Courtroom on April 7, 2015 to answer to the charges.
