(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at approximately 7:45 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received theft report involving a stop sign from Concession 3 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
A posted stop sign for northbound traffic on Concession 3 at Grey Rd. 18 was intentionally removed from a 4×4 wooden post, using the necessary tools, by unknown person(s) sometime overnight.
Traffic control was conducted to ensure the safety of motorists until such time as Grey County Roads Department could replace the stop sign.
Whether the theft of the stop sign was intended to be a prank or to be displayed in/on someone’s garage; no matter the reason, a collision, perhaps a serious one, may have occurred as a result of this act of theft.
