INTOXICATED MALES ARRESTED IN DOWNTOWN PARRY SOUND

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On March 23, 2014 at approximately 2:36 a.m., the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of three intoxicated males walking on Seguin Street in Parry Sound. The males were aggressively speaking to others passing by.

Police arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation into the three males. As a result of the investigation, all three males were placed under arrest and charged accordingly.

Joshua SMOKE, 34 years of age from Peterborough, was charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act (LLA). He was released with a Provincial Offence Notice.

David WHEESK, 23 years of age from Parry Sound, was charged with Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC). He was released on a Promise to Appear and will attend the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound on April 17, 2014 to answer to his charge.

Matthew LAVALEE, 33 years of age from PAQTNKEK Nova Scotia was charged with the following:

– Being Intoxicated in a Public Place contrary to the LLA

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order * 2 counts, contrary to the CCC

– Fail to Comply with Undertaking * 4 counts, contrary to the CCC

He was held in police custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound to answer to his charges.
