Injuries In Multiple Vehicle Collision

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles that occurred on Argyle Street South near Sixth Line in Caledonia, Haldimand County, Ontario.

On Monday September 19, 2016 at approximately 1:30 p.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services and Haldimand County Paramedics responded to Argyle Street South near Sixth Line for a multiple vehicle collision where it was reported some of the occupants were injured.

OPP investigation has determined that a brown Pontiac Grand Prix was travelling southbound on Argyle Street South and collided with a grey Pontiac Grand Prix that was northbound on Argyle Street South turning westbound onto Sixth Line. The impact caused the grey Pontiac Grand Prix to severe in half and the front portion of the vehicle collided with a third vehicle that was stopped on Sixth Line at Argyle Street South.

The 67-year-old female driver of the grey Pontiac Grand Prix needed assistance in being removed from her vehicle, however, she was not injured

The 29-year-old male driver and his 51-year-old female passenger of the brown Pontiac Grand Prix were transported by ambulance to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the third vehicle was not injured.

Argyle Street South was closed between Sixth Line and the Highway 6 bypass for approximately 45 minutes.

OPP has charged 67-year-old Dorothy LA-COUR of Hagersville, Ontario with failing to yield to through traffic under The Highway Traffic Act.
