(Shannonville,ON)- On Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 3:18 a.m. a concerned citizen called 911 to report a transport all over the road travelling eastbound on Highway 401 near Shannonville.
The caller indicated that the transport had scraped up against the centre concrete median multiple times.
A second complainant called police reporting the transport had a Quebec licence plate and had BTC labelled on the back trailer.
While police were enroute to the call they were notified that the transport had pulled onto the shoulder of the highway near Wymans Road, Tyendinaga Township.
At 3:45 a.m. police located the transport truck parked near Wymans Road.
Officers arrested the driver for impaired driving and transported him to Loyalist OPP detachment for breath tests.
Facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle, refusing to provide a breath sample and dangerous driving is 33 year-old Tejpah RANDHAWA of Laval, Quebec.
He was released on a Recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Napanee on February 23, 2016.
