Impaired Driver Tried to Avoid R.I.D.E. Program – MCLEOD

(Tweed, Ontario) – On August 3, 2018 at 11:30 p.m., Central Hastings OPP were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Marlbank Road East of Highway 37, Tweed, Ontario. The officers observed a vehicle stop and do a u-turn prior to the R.I.D.E. program. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and charged is 33 year old Adam MCLEOD of Tweed, Ontario with Driving with More than 80 Mgs of Alcohol in Blood and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available; Highway Traffic Act. McLeod received a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension and his vehicle was impounded. He will appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 23, 2018.
