(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On October 7, 2016, at approximately 9:21 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision at Coldstream Road and Oxbow Drive.
A white Ford sport utility vehicle (SUV) travelling southbound on Coldstream Road collided in the intersection with a brown Ford van, which was travelling eastbound on Oxbow Drive. Coldstream Road is governed by stop signs.
The 37-year-old male driver of the van was transported by ambulance to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His current medical status is not available.
Officers determined that the 31-year-old male driver of the SUV had been drinking alcohol. He was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP Detachment for breath testing, which revealed he had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.
As a result of the police investigation, Adam MARINO, from Middlesex Centre, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired cause bodily harm (motor vehicle – alcohol), and exceed 80 milligrams blood alcohol content/motor vehicle/cause accident, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on November 16, 2016.
