Barrie Police and Fire were called to the area of Minets Pt for a report of a suspcious object laying on the Bay ice, a distance off shore.
The complainant expressed fears the object was a person or a injured animal.
Barrie Fire attended the area and it was became quickly apparent the object” was in fact a large flock of geese.
This occurence illustrates the dangers thin ice can pose especially early in the winter season.
Police remind residents to stay off thin ice and to call local outfitters for infomation on the thickness and safety of ice conditions.”
