(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment was contacted by a concerned homeowner at a Charlotteville West Quarter Line Road, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Monday, December 2, 2013, at approximately 3:25 a.m., a homeowner observed a male attempting to enter the front door of their residence and another male inside their motor vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence.
The homeowner immediately went outside at which time both males fled southbound from the residence with the homeowner following.
The first male suspect is being described as a male, 5’6 to 5’7, wearing dark clothes and a dark hooded sweat shirt.
The second suspect is being described as a male, 6’0, tall, slim build, wearing dark coloured clothes and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
A quantity of Canadian currency was taken from two unlocked vehicles that were parked in the driveway.
The OPP want to provide all vehicle owners with the following tips in order to prevent them from becoming a statistic of thefts from their vehicles.
Always secure your vehicle doors when parking your vehicle, even if you are only going to be a few minutes.
Remove valuables from your vehicle. If you can’t, then keep them from plain view.
Park in well lighted areas with high traffic.
Clean out your garage and park your vehicle in it – locking your vehicle and the garage door.
Remember, if you see something, say something. If you see suspicious activity or behaviour around your vehicle or neighbourhood, report it.
