(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a red car involved in a collision with an OPP cruiser last week.
On Thursday, February 27, 2014 at approximately 3:14 p.m. a Grey County OPP officer, operating a fully marked OPP cruiser, was southbound on Hwy. 6 approximately 1/2 km south of Southgate Rd. 10, when it was struck from behind by a red car. The impact caused the cruiser to collide with the back end of another southbound OPP cruiser. Both officers activated the cruiser’s emergency lighting system and pulled over. The suspect vehicle continued southbound, past the cruisers, without stopping. The officers did not pursue the vehicle due to the whiteout conditions at the time.
There were no injuries reported. Both cruisers were damaged as a result of the collision. The extent of the damage to the front end of the red car is unknown.
