Guelph Police Daily News Release – December 16, 2015

Search Warrant Leads to Multiple Charges

On December 15, 2015 Guelph Police attended to a motel in the north end of the city and arrested a male in connection to the tragic fatality that occurred over the weekend. There were two other individuals found in the motel room at the same time. Police allege there were signs of drug use in the hotel room; they obtained a warrant and entered into a drug investigation. As a result of the drug investigation, the following charges have been laid:

The 21 year old Guelph male charged in the fatality has been further charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is jointly charged for possession with a 35 year old Guelph male and a 30 year old Elmira woman, he was also Breaching his Probation.

A 30 year old Elmira woman has been charged with breaching her “Officer In Charge” Undertaking.

A 35 year old Guelph male has been also charged with:

– Possession of stolen property under $5000

– Possession of break-in instruments

– Seven counts of Possession of Identity Documents

– Two counts of possession of credit card data

– Breaching his probation

All three individuals have been held for a Bail Hearing.

Male Attempts to Steal Motor Vehicle

On December 14, 2015 at 6:50am, witnesses were awoken by a loud bang in the area of Julia Drive. Witnesses observed a male fleeing from a car that had its engine running and was abandoned. Police were called and initiated an investigation into the matter.

On December 15, 2015 at 11:50am the accused in the matter was located and arrested. Thomas Bradley, a 36 year old Toronto male, faces charges of attempt theft of a motor vehicle, mischief under $5000 and breaching his probation order. He was released with a January 26, 2016 court date.

Car Theft Investigation Leads to a Woman Being Charged for Multiple Offences

On December 6, 2015 at 1:00pm a woman attended to a church in the east end of Guelph and stole a vehicle from the parking lot. Later that same day, a witness from the church observed the stolen vehicle being driven by the same woman at a mall on the east side of Guelph. Police were unable to locate the woman at that time, but were able to identify her.

It was determined that the woman was currently wanted for multiple offences that span over a two month period.

On December 15, 2015 at 1:00pm Guelph Police were notified of a disturbance that was occurring in an apartment building, located in the downtown core of Guelph. While investigating the disturbance, Police located the woman that was wanted on multiple charges. A 31 year old Guelph woman has been charged with:

– Theft of Motor Vehicle

– Possession of Identity Information

– Identity Fraud

– Public Mischief

– Breaching her Recognizance

– Four counts of Breaching her Probation

She is being held for a bail hearing.

Theft Investigation

On December 15, 2015, at 11:00am it is alleged a male entered a medical clinic in downtown Guelph, where he stole a cell phone. As a result of this investigation, a 20 year old Guelph male has been charged with theft under $5000 and two counts of Breaching his Probation Order. He was held for a bail hearing.
