Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – December 16, 2015

Man Charged with Break and Enter CK15036946

Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) cut a hole in the fenced compound of Maple City Mini-Storage on Queens Line. The suspect(s) forced their way into three storage units removing several items. The stolen property was piled along the fence line presumably to be retrieved at a later date. The suspect(s) did however steal two bicycles.

Around 4:00 a.m. yesterday morning, an employee checked the premise and observed the hole in the fence along with the stack of stolen property. Police were immediately called and K9 Arry commenced a track from the storage units which lead to a residence on Queens Line.

Through investigation, police identified the man responsible and the two bikes were recovered. The 30-year-old man has been charged with break and enter and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man and Woman Charged with Failing to Comply CK15036991 / CK15036993

In August 2015 the 24-year-old Sarnia woman was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that she was to abstain from communicating with a specific 24-year-old Sarnia man.

In September 2015 the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with the woman.

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Base Line near Cemetery Road in Wallaceburg. The man and woman were found together in one of the vehicles. Both were arrested, charged with failing to comply and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Assault CK15037004

Yesterday afternoon, the man and his girlfriend were shopping. A verbal argument began which escalated into a physical altercation as the man placed the woman in a headlock and punched her in the head. Witnesses intervened and called police.

The 25-year-old Chatham man was charged with assault. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Theft of Trucks in Bothwell CK15037039 / CK15037040

Sometime last night between 7:20 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. unknown suspect(s) stole an unlocked black 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 truck from a residence on Zone Centre Line. The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates 698 5FE.

Sometime last night between 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. unknown suspect(s) stole an unlocked blue 2008 GMC Sierra pick-up truck from a driveway on St. Ignatius Line. The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates AC16 250.
