Occurrence Type: R.I.D.E Leads To Drug Seizure

Barrie Police conducted a R.I.D.E spot check on Tuesday night at several locations throughout the City of Barrie.
As a result a total of 521 vehicles were stopped, police did not lay any charges of over 80 or impaired driving. One motorist was charged with possession of a controlled substance. The 33-year-old Barrie male was not impaired by drug and released on an appearance notice and will appear in a Barrie court in January.

Occurrence Type: An Arrest Ends A Youths Joy Ride

The Barrie Police Street Crime Unit had been investigating a report of a stolen vehicle. On Tuesday, December 15, just after 5:00 p.m. investigators arrested a 15-year-old Barrie youth who had been in possession of the vehicle.
The youth has been charged with property obtained by crime and was released to a guardian on a promise to appear. He will appear in a Barrie Court in January.
