During the month of March 2016 the Guelph Police Drug Unit began an investigation into the trafficking of cocaine within the city. On March 30, 2016, police arrested two females when they conducted a drug transaction. The Guelph Police Tactics and Rescue Unit along with the Guelph Police Drug Unit then executed a CDSA search warrant at an apartment building on Ajax Street. Police seized over 196 grams of cocaine with a street value of more than $19,000. Over 8,000 grams of a cutting agent used to dilute the purity of cocaine, Acetone, a small quantity of Marihuana, cannabis resin and prescription pills. Police also seized numerous cell phones, digital scales and plastic Ziploc bags all indicative of drug trafficking. A large machete and a set of martial arts weapons commonly known as Sais were also seized. Police seized approximately $6,300 dollars in cash.
A 41-year-old Guelph female has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime. She was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with drive while under suspension.
A 37-year-old Guelph female has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. She will appear in court on May 10, 2016.
Police have issued arrest warrants for two males.
Break and enter
On March 30, 2016, the Guelph Police went to an Oakridge Crescent residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through a basement window sometime between March 21 at 3:00 p.m. and March 30 at 11:00 a.m. Jewelry and two IPADS are reported stolen.

Break and enter – arrest
On March 30, 2016 at 12:10 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a John Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The resident was home and called police when she heard banging on a basement window. A male broke the window and crawled through. The resident confronted the male who then left the home. Police located the male a short distance away and he was arrested.
A 17-year-old Guelph male has been charged with break and enter. He was also wanted for the charge of fail to re-attend court. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on March 31, 2016.
