GUELPH MALE CHARGED WITH OVER 80 MGS, DRUGS AND SPEEDING

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 27, 2014 at approximately 9:26 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) investigated the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet for a Highway Traffic Act violation on Conservation Road near Victoria Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

Upon speaking with the driver, police discovered that he had been drinking. He was administered a Roadside Screening Device test which resulted in a fail. Police also seized marihuana from the vehicle.

The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle impounded for seven days.

Oliver SCHWEITZER aged 52 of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 MGS contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, Possession of Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on August 8, 2014 to answer to the charges.
