(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recently conducted a vehicle stop that resulted in the driver facing numerous charges.
On February 19, 2014 an OPP officer conducted a traffic stop on Old Mill Road in the former Ops Township. Investigation revealed that the driver was suspended from driving and that he was on probation. Further investigation resulted in the officer seizing a small quantity of cocaine.
As a result of the investigation Geoffry HICKSON, 51 years of age, of Reaboro, was charged with the following offences:
Two counts of driving while suspended, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
Breach of probation, contrary to the HTA
Possession of cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on March 27, 2014.
