Geetesh MALHOTRA – Drunk Driving, Vehicle Theft, etc

(CALEDON, ON) – On Monday, August 29, 2016 at approximately 4:30 am, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate a single motor vehicle collision on Airport Road north of King St. in the Town of Caledon. Officers attended the scene and observed a white Chevrolet Cruze in the ditch area and on speaking to the driver of that vehicle, immediately detected an odour of alcohol on his breath.

Upon investigation, the officer determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by the consumption of alcohol and arrested the operator of the Chevrolet accordingly.

As a result, Geetesh MALHOTRA, 26 of Brampton was charged with the following offences:

Adult Driving While Ability Impaired – motor vehicle (Alcohol)

Adult Driving with More than 80 mgs

Adult Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle

Adult Novice Driver – B.A.C. above zero

Take Motor Vehicle without Consent

The 90-day Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a later date.
