In a shameless attempt to further stuff the pockets of Old Boys Club members with as much cash as possible, Foxton Fuels is hosting a petition so the next chief of police will be a Foxton. For this to happen they need to keep the OPP away and are willing to force the taxpayers to pay an extra $2.1 million to keep the Wingham police in place.
The police board clearly has no say in who the next chief is, despite that being one their key functions, as it was declared years ago that Foxton would be the next chief. The Police Board clearly has relinquished all control to the chief of police, much like what council has done to department heads. The police board can’t even get the Wingham police to do comprehensive patrols after midnight on the square mile, or even stay within the Wingham boundaries. I guess they get bored with one call for service per shift on average and need to patrol and bust people off the square mile to get their overtime and to bank hours.
