FEMALE INJURED IN ALTERCATION WITH POLICE

(RED LAKE, ON) – At approximately 8:47pm CST February 8, 2014 Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched for the second time that evening to a noise complaint at a residence in Red Lake, Ontario.

Upon arrival, officers were refused entry by the female inside the residence who advised the officers that she had consumed an unknown quantity of medication. Concerned for her safety, the officers breached the door of the residence. An altercation between the female and the police took place and a firearm was discharged by police. The female was transported to hospital and treated for an injury.

Two officers were transported to hospital and subsequently released.
