(CALEDON, ON) – On September 12th, 2014 at 5:20 pm, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to attend a Village of Bolton bank to investigate a possible fraud. The investigation revealed that on August 20th, a female entered into the financial institution and attempted to withdraw a large sum from a bank account which had been opened under a false name. Employees at the bank advised police that the same female was inside the bank and was attempting to open another account under a new identity. The female provided bank staff with false identification and they contacted the OPP to investigate.
As a result of the investigation, Dinah Elizabeth MITCHELL, 33, of North York was arrested and charged with Fraud Under $5,000.00, Personation with Intent and Uttering Forged Document.
She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on October 30th, 2014.
