(Minden Hills Twp, ON)- On Friday June 11, 2016 just after 7:00pm members of Haliburton Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Dysart Et Al Fire Department attended a residential structure fire on County Road 21 in Minden Hill.
During the initial investigation by the fire department, human remains were located inside the residence. As a result the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall (OFM) along with the Haliburton Highland OPP Crime Unit and Central Region Forensics Identification Unit have been asked to assist in the investigation.
The extent of the fire is severe which has made it difficult to have the remains removed for identification.
Investigation is ongoing and updates will be done once made available.
