Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision at a Norfolk Street North, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Thursday, November 27, 2014 at approximately 11:35 a.m., the Norfolk County OPP, Norfolk County Fire Services and Norfolk County Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision.

Investigation has determined that a pick-up truck was travelling northbound on Norfolk Street North when the vehicle collided with the rear of a red sports utility vehicle (SUV) also travelling in the same direction. The pick-up truck then left the roadway and entered the west ditch striking a hydro pole.

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 63 year old male from Bayham, Ontario was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the attending physician.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 55 year old female of Norfolk County, Ontario was not injured during the collision.

Investigation has revealed that the cause of death was medically related and the identity of the deceased is not being released.
