(TWEED, ON) – On April 8th, 2015, at approximately 6:40pm officers from the Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call for a collision on Highway 7 near Varty Road in the Municipality of Tweed.
When officers arrived on scene it was determined that two vehicles had been involved in the collision, a tractor trailer and a passenger car.
The driver of the passenger car, a 29 year old male from East York, ON was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers from the OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) as well OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
Highway 7 was closed between Highway 37 and Highway 41 for approximately 4 hours last evening.
