(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Thursday, April 9, 2015 at approximately 12:11 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check at Toronto Road and Durham Street, Flesherton, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.
A red 2002 Saturn vehicle, driven by a lone female occupant, was stopped at the R.I.D.E. spot check. When police questioned the driver as to the strong odor of marihuana emanating from inside the vehicle she subsequently surrendered a small quantity of marihuana to the officer.
Rachel Cara McCLELLAND, age 24, of the Township of Chatsworth, was charged with possession of marihuana – under 30 grams under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA).
She is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, May 28, 2015.
