(RENFREW, ON) – Calabogie Road near Burnstown is closed as Police investigate a fatal collision. Officers from the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the single vehicle collision at 7:45pm. Calabogie Road in the Township of Greater Madawaska is expected to be closed for several more hours.
A 1998 Toyota Corolla was travelling northbound when it left the pavement and travelled into the ditch. There were two adult males in the vehicle, a father and son. The 31-year-old driver suffered minor injuries, while his father suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital by paramedics where he died of his injuries. He will be identified after notification of next of kin is complete.
Calabogie Road is closed between Burnstown Road and Fraser Road, follow detours.
Provincial Constable Sarah Turcotte is leading the investigation. If anyone has information about this crash, they are asked to contact Renfrew OPP at 613-432-3211.
