Fatal Collision

(CITY OF TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – On July 23, 2015 shortly before 1:00 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision located on Highway 11, Harley Township involving a motorcycle and a pick-up truck.

A total of four people were involved in the collision. The District of Temiskaming Ambulance Service and the Harley Fire Department attended the scene. All occupants were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The 50-year-old male motorcycle driver from Etobicoke has been pronounced dead at the hospital. The three occupants of the pick-up truck are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are assisting with this investigation. Highway 11 has been closed in both directions. The estimated duration of road advisory is unavailable at this time.

A detour has been made available: northbound traffic, travel west onto Golf Course Road to Highway 65. Highway 65 to Highway 562. Highway 562 to Highway 571. Highway 571 to Highway 11, Earlton. Southbound traffic is reversed at Earlton.
