On July 23, 2015, Waterloo Regional Police responded to a weapons call on Folkstone Cr. in the city of Kitchener. A 16 year old male had been threatened with a firearm by a person known to him in relation to a personal dispute. Patrol and Emergency Response Unit (ERU) officers responded to the area of the suspects residence in Kitchener and contained the residence. The accused, a 16 year old Kitchener male, was arrested without incident by members of the ERU. He was held for a bail hearing on weapons and threats related charges. An imitation firearm was later recovered. Two other males have been identified and interviewed by police. This was a targeted incident and the involved parties have been identified by police. There is not believed to be any threat to public safety.
