(TAY TOWNSHIP, ON) – On April 10, 2015 at 3:13pm Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 911 call of an explosion at a house on Jephson Street in Victoria Harbour, Tay Township.
The resident of the home returned from a brief outing and when they unlocked the front door, an explosion occurred at the rear of the home. Tay Fire attended the scene and extinguished the flames. There was extensive damage to the rear of the residence as a result.
The resident was unharmed after being treated at the scene by Simcoe County Paramedics. Hydro, Enbridge and the Ontario Fire Marshal also attended the scene to assist in the investigation. The scene was held by the Ontario Fire Marshal for further investigation into the cause of this explosion.
The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
